This Is Not A Room
This is not a room. But it is a dress. Mary Katrantzou's premise for her first stand-alone show was a multi-dimensional homage to home furnishings. If you've ever been caught with nothing to wear, spare a thought for your draperies and, like Katrantzou, transform it into a dress.

Forget Your Troubles, Come on Be Happy
I always succumb to the sweet charm of Charles Anastase. Maybe it's the channelled librarian geek chic, or his unpredictability in putting a look together.

NY Wraps Up, Ready For London
New York is over, wrapped up with an on-trend live stream finale. Thanks to the Phoebe Philo effect, the week was mostly a rerun/rehash/reinterpretation of Celine's past two seasons. Sure, utility chic seems to be both practical and desirable these days but there were one too many straight lines on the catwalk. Thankfully there were a few exceptions. Separate to the designers we mentioned earlier in the week, here are our favourites from New York.

At Sea
You'd be forgiven for thinking we were returning with talk of Scandinavian fashion given Timo Weiland's playful new direction for summer collection.

Australia’s Angel
Another Aussie designer doing the NY schedule is Melbourne expatriate Michael Angel. Prior to his American sojourn in the mid-noughties, Michael was a stylist rebelling against the prevailing attitudes of style at the time, fusing a punk element with sportswear and high fashion.

The Romantic
It seems that Paris, and perhaps Cerruti, is having an influence over Richard Nicoll's work.

Say Hello To The New Hannah
We always look forward to London. Of course we say this every season, so its beginning to sound like the proverbial broken record. Though the city packs a lot of promise for the summer 2011 season, it took until late Friday afternoon, the first day of Fashion Week, for us to get truly excited about what lies ahead this week in London.

Front And Back
We first visited London-based, New York-bound designer Graeme Armour at the beginning of the year, with his S/S 2010 collection. Nine months later, with a successful debut season at Bryant Park, Armour returns with another flight into futurism.

New Kid On The Block
It's always exciting to discover something new. New band, new restaurant, new fashion. Just quietly, I quite like being the first to show off such a find to my friends. It's like I'm the only one in the world to know of this obscure personal breakthrough and I must share it with others. Well, Julian Louie is my new find from fashion week.

Rachel Comey
Playful prints are part of Rachel Comey's charm. Abstract geometrics, painterly florals. Bold versus subtle. Her mix of pattern and palette is ingenious.
