It’s always interesting to come across a designer who works with unusual and interesting materials. Stephanie Simek is an American artist who’s jewellery pieces are inspired by the obvious. But the beauty with her work is that it is entirely organic. Stephanie usually works with real, raw materials, coating them in plastic for added strength. A new piece is introduce every few months. It’s such a kitsch and clever concept to take something that is real and primitive in form, and twist it to become something that is and artificial and consumerable, and the complete opposite to nature’s intended purpose.
