We receive emails on a regular basis from artists all over the world submitting ideas, editorials and artwork for our issues. Given Canvas’ very distinct commentary for each issue it’s not always possible to collaborate because visually and aesthetically it’s not a match with the edition, even though the work might be amazing. One such example is Berlin based illustrator Alvvino. Akin to Surrealist artist Duchamp, his work is both humourous and unconventional, like fantasy art. There is an amazing degree of detail in these illustrations and I think for us it’s a case of ‘note to self: Alvvino’ for future issues.
