We are proud to present our second feature, Polish fashion designer Ania Kucynska’s Spring/Summer 08 collection, The Love Hotel. Her designs are minimal yet modern and the collection has been beautifully captured by photographer Szymon Roginski.

Over the past five years, Ania Kuczynska has made a name for herself as one of the most promising fashion designers in Poland. Having first learnt her technical skills in Rome and then Paris, Ania returned to her homeland, where she developed her designs in the alternative use of materials and their iconography in contemporary culture. Ania’s trademark look best is described as ‘ornate minimalism’ and her designs are driven by alternative uses of materials and iconography in contemporary culture. Severe in cut, often unfinished, yet always feminine and sensual, Ania understands the presentation of her work is just as important to as the clothes themselves.
Her side project UEG, a creative collaboration with Michal Lojewski - one of Poland’s top graphic designers - has caught the eye of fashion journalist Diane Pernet. The idea that drives the project is that of consumption, how desirable objects are designed to deteriorate, and uses the language of symbols and icons to remind the wearer of the inconsistencies in today’s existence.
