Le Jardin Des Tuileries

Little Tailleur doesn’t define any trends, rather it is a label based on a discipline centred around the female identity. This becomes most obvious with the new winter collection in the design details of dress that have been emphasised and accentuated: the gathered necklines, the cinched waist, an elongated cuff. Transparent fabrics and embellished finishings add to the atmosphere of prettiness. It’s a very traditional and somewhat conservative aesthetic but one that I find quite refreshing. It’s a powerful cognoscente to be chic and polished, and I admire the integrity of Georgette in being true to the attitude of Little Tailleur, especially given fashion’s current pre-occupation with rising hemlines.

Admittedly, there is a subtle shift in silhouette with this season; I own several Little Tailleur dresses and was quite surprised to see a definition in the waist in a few of the dresses. But it’s not a complete nod to nostaglia. The collection is balanced with a slight gender tone, as seen in the sharp lines and strucutre of blouses and trousers, so there’s enough to appeal to either of your sartorial sides.

And, as always, a fan.
