Green Is A Girl’s Best Friend

We’re currently interviewing the girls from above for our next issue of Canvas. Stylist Jade Leung’s name was mentioned during the conversation and while privately pleading ignorance, we set about doing a little bit of research and it was via Jade’s client work we discovered jewellery designer Emma Grace.

Historically, jewellery was seen as a status of symbol, an object of reverence that held an important place in the foundation of human cultures. But as the object became to many an adornment of desire, consequences of another nature were borne and it is only now we recognise the impact of the industry’s development on the environment. Emma Grace is keenly aware of this problem and it’s something she addresses in her collections. By using recycled materials her focus is on a sustainable future. Emma’s process of creation comes from an intuitive, craft-driven response to throw-away fashion; a background in visual arts lends an intelligence to her look. It’s ethical fashion with an emotional response.
