This art and literature serial was created by sisters Tess and Anna Knoebel. Abe’s Penny, a micro-magazine, is printed on postcards; subscribers receive one postcard each week for a month. Each volume is curated by a different artist and writer but at the end of the month the four postcards put together tell a story.
It’s wonderful, in contrast to modern times where communication is severed to abbreviated numbers and letters, to look forward to something that is tangible and engaging, and encourages a dialogue. Whilst we have no personal connection to the writer or artist there is a real sense of intimacy and anticipation delivered with each postcard.
