Nick Knight is continuing with his Political Fashion film season, which began earlier this May. Starting with a film by Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati on Monday 21 July, a new Political Fashion film will air on SHOWstudio from midnight each day through until Monday 28 July.
Mad Cortes has just announced their attendance at this year's Brisbane Fashion Festival. Mira Vukovic's S/S 09 season was highlighted by striped dresses and frocks with origammi folds, all keeping in lines with current trends and creating excitement for the coming season.
Kraemer Antiquaire will present the decorative arts of the 18th century based on an unusual concept for its participation in the Antiques & Arts Paris Biennale: two giant cubes that play on symmetry. Queensland artist Danny Guinsberg opened his first solo exhibition in Melbourne at The Untitled Gallery.
Christopher Kane, Erdem, Marios Schwab and Roksanda Ilincic have today been announced as the recipients of the British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward sponsorship. Established two years ago, the scheme provides financial support to UK-based designers in the early stages of developing their business but who have already established themselves at London Fashion Week.
Nicholas Kirkwood continues to win over the fashion world with his statement-making shoes. His angular kicks channel 80s power stilettos, rejecting ornamentation in favour of structure and and linear shapes. As part of a special project from Alta Roma the designer has created a shoe inspired by Turineses designer Carlo Mollino, the designer, architect and genius obsessed with extreme decoration.
