Bracewell’s vintage concept store Penny Arcade has been given a second life as a temporary pop-up shop, housing both established and emerging designers. Each label has a dedicated space that is a reflection of the brand’s aesthetic, but is also complementary to the original ideas of Penny Arcade.

Kirra Jamison
Beginning Friday Jan Murphy Gallery will exhibit Australian artist Kirra Jamison’s artworks, designs based on mythical creatures. Her loose brushstrokes are both fanciful and mysterious, blending human and natural form to create narratives that are based on patterns and the imaginative space of mind.

The Broadhurst Effect
Using the body as a canvas and featuring Florence Broadhurst prints, artist Emma Hack creates her own “wallpaper”. Body art is given a new energy through Hack’s relationship with Broadhurst’s illustrations and quite often it becomes difficult to determine where the work of each artist begins.

Sundayland
Sundayland is a design studio of Argentinian architects, the Gerscovich brothers. Created in 2003 and operating out of Los Angeles, Sundayland houses a diverse range of products that appeal that to both the commercial and niche design markets. Each design is injected with intentional humour, a defining characteristic of their work.

Head’s Up
Milliner William Chambers is renowned in his home town of Glasgow but has only started to make slight waves internationally due to his creative collaboration with style icon Roison Murphy (during her 2007/08 European tour). His creations, often inspired by nature, are a juxtaposition of fabrics and textures that create dramatic effect.

Shinji Nakaba
Following careers as clothing designer, hairdresser, shoemaker and graphic designer, Japanese-born Shinji Nakaba began fabricating jewellery in 1974. While he considers most materials suitable for his jewellery pieces Nakaba really utilises precious stones and metal in his designs. The artist has been exhibiting for some time but his most recent collaboration with Scandanavian designer Staerk for her Autumn/Winter 2009 runway show.

Gallery 52
Consumed by the idea of space and using black vinyl tape, artist Esther Stocker created an impressive, monochromatic dream for London Gallery 52. Fusing abstract design with architectural principles Stocker creates a sense of optical illusion in her work, with its minimal construction and simplistic colour palette.

Summer Sartorialist
The Sartorialist, everyone’s favourite street style blogger, has teamed up with DKNY for their summer 2009 ad campaign. New York is the driving force for the campaign’s inspiration and the end result is a series of polaroids that capture the ‘edgy spirit’ of DKNY’s aesthetic (as only The Sartorialist knows how).
